Who was the first person born in Texas to be depicted on a US postage stamp?

This special postage stamp in the 3-cent denomination was issued to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Texas independence. The stamp was first offered for sale at the post office in GonzaJes, Tex., on March 2, 1936.

No, that stamp depicted Austin and Houston, neither of whom were born in Texas. Both were Virginians.

At first I was thinking Sam Rayburn but he was born in Tennessee. Is it Dwight Eisenhower?

Don't know who the first was but the last Texan to be featured on a postage stamp has to be Selena. The Selena stamp just came out 2 months ago

Yes, It's Ike. Rayburn, from Tennessee, was on a 1962 stamp, and Eisenhower for the first time in 1969.

No. Hint: it is in North Central Texas, and is a "city" only by virtue of being incorporated; it has a population of less than 300.
