most will never know how much pride Texans have for their state until they visit Texas. I saw more Texas flags in my two week trip to TX than I have seen California flags in CA and I have lived in CA practically my whole life

Very true, prime example last nights Rangers game. How many games do you see people waving/holding their state flag? Granted the flag is apart of the Rangers Uniform... but still not something you really see. Were a special bunch. Sadly most of the time non Texans take it the wrong way. Lord knows I get harassed at work.

BTW Even though your username does have Texas in it, the word before it is really bothering me

Yep--I can relate to that, LOL! C-D as a whole is very liberal, almost all across the board.

Not my take at all. Just check out the Politics forum--I think you'll find that it's dominated heavily by conservatives.

PacificPalisadesPete had this on one of his posts. I can see why the OP is so incredibly proud to be from such a beautiful area.

This begs the question: Why are some many Californians relocating in droves to Texas as well as Arkansas and Oklahoma?

Hey, I love the 'bear' flag. I believe I still have one around here some place even though I now live in Texas.

I don't know that they're going in "droves" to Oklahoma or Arkansas, but they're coming to Texas because we have jobs and California's economy isn't so great right now. And it's worth noting that the OP stated that they are "embarrassed" to be from California (not sure why, though--it's a nice state).

That photo is gorgeous and you're making me homesick for the Pacific, but one can find areas of Texas that are very pretty too. Like CA with some of the desert ugly areas, Texas has those as well.

If I were leaving CA now, I would choose a state such as ID or VA (southwestern part) but since I left CA 32 years ago, Texas is where I landed due to family. Between TX, AR, and OK, I'll stay in TX.

I drop in occasionally.....

The general state boards--including Texas--and especially New Mexico--still seem to be slanted heavily to liberal.
