We are visiting Texas in 2 weeks and need some recommendations on towns to check out for our relocation. I really don't know much about the areas. Any help you could give I would love.

Looking for a town near a city with a decent size airport within an hour and a half drive. Husband loves fishing. Kids are currently in a charter school looking for hopefully the same. Will be renting for starters. We are relocating our internet business so we aren't really looking for job. Just a nice little community. Want size of city no bigger than 50,000.

Thanks so much

Yours requirements fit maybe 200-300 towns. What responses you will get may help, may not, it will be our experiences or what we have heard. Humidity, arid dessert, coast nearby, trees rolling hills, four seasons more or less in Texas, near major metros? Good luck

Hi there!!!! I highly recommend these small towns: Shallowater, TX Abernathy, TX New Deal, TX Idalou, TX Hale Center, TX All are small friendly towns (esp Shallowater) and near Lubbock which has charter schools. Most of those places have good schools though. There's lots to do in Lubbock too!!!!!!

Another one is Levelland. It has a community college and is a bigger small town, but still a small town. It's about 30 min from Lubbock. Hale Center runs commercials all the time to try to get people to move there, so they definitely want you to come!
