He should have had a photo op with Chuck Norris at the border to really fire up the clueless.

No thanks. We don't need floods of people coming in.

Texas already has 6 of the 17 biggest cities in the country. that is more than our fare share. give someone else a share in the bounty. send them to Alaska
Notwithstanding being a native-born, 5th generation Texan, I left and haven't any expectations of moving back, so maybe there's hope for more outward migration.

Or maybe you'd like to move here and escape a Texas that is apparently now so over-run with Mexican nationals that it's deteriorating fast (your version). We have no sales tax here and our property taxes are MUCH lower than you're likely to find anywhere in Texas. In our southernmost county, Sussex, there are houses worth half a million that only have an annual tax bill of $500. Even here in our northernmost and most expensive county my tax bill for a home of that value is less than $2000 a year (that includes both school and county taxes). In the interest of full disclosure we do have a very modest state income tax, but that's deductible from your federal income tax.

So why not just pass a comprehensive immigration reform that would enable unskilled labourers to actually come here to work, be payed and taxed above board? You don't have to give them citizenship or even permanent rights of residence, but a renewable work permit would arguably be appropriate.

lawns were cut before illegals were here and they will be cut after. Maybe it will give out teenagers something to do and teach them responsibility and the value of money.

It is not right in my book to higher illegals just because it is cheaper. That only benefits the illegals and the 'man'

no wonder the middle class is shrinking. The middle class made America great, but right now it is too polarized. too many people getting rich on the poor.

They wouldn't be illegals if we legalised them. As to American citizens taking up the labour slack -- dream on.
