I'm considering moving to another state. I know my reasons, but I'm curious why others left. discuss!

^ Same here. That's why I'll be moving in a year or two. Plus I like experiencing other places.

I just looked into my crystal ball and noticed that this thread will go much better if we offer our own reasons and don't comment on other peoples' reasons. To help that prediction come true, commenting on other posted reasons will be OFF TOPIC if it's done by anyone but the OP.

I wanted to experience something different and was lucky enough to be able to claim citizenship in an EU nation, so I could live in any one of over a dozen countries. I lived and worked in 3 European countries over several years. But I came back home eventually.

I left Texas because I went to New Orleans and Panama City Beach for a vacation.

College, once (New Orleans).

Career, mainly. But California was too expensive, and it turned out that it wasn't all that and a bag of chips.

Last time was when ex-H got a lucrative job in the PNW, which sucked all mightily. When he wanted to move us to Saudi from there, I said he** no.

I always come back to Austin. It's the most habitable of the larger cities to live in out of all I've seen, IMHO, but I suspect that will change.
