Burgess Falls just south of Cookeville last week after all the rain... the lower foot path was closed do to the amount of water coming over the falls... The local ranger was just soaked after securing the foot path..

The Restaurant at Cumberland Mountain State Park over looking the small lake and the Stone Bridge...Open at 11am. They generally have the daily menu post near the door...if you get their early you can sit and watch the ducks & geese on the lake...

Default Fall east TN 2009

Hubby and I went on a picture taking trip this past Sunday afternoon. We started in Gray TN in the Tri-Cities area, went down to Greeneville,( you can see those pictures in the Tri-Cities TN forum picture thread) took the back way into Newport, picked up 321 through Cosby, stopped at the apple orchard there (can't remember the name of it, but it is on 321, can't miss it) then continued on to Gatlinburg and into the park. We couldn't get far into the park as there was a bear in a tree close to the road so it was slower than a crawl, mostly stopped, for miles and as we were loosing light, parked by a trail head and walked to the river. Did stop at the first over look with long range views though on the way back down. Enjoy!
