We lived in a tent for a short time when we first moved to Tennessee. My husband is an auto mechanic, as well. Everything has worked out great for us.

You don't sound like the usual, wanting to sell your McMansion and build another one here. You have a great attitude and I bet that you will do well.

Thank you hiknapster for the vote of confidence. I really feel that if we look long and hard we will find the perfect place to grow old in peace! We are hard working, helpful people, which is why we are having such a hard time staying in Florida. I love my house and my neighbors, it's the rest of the people in the state that I have a problem with. I travel 12 miles to work and it takes me 45 minutes 1 way and $30.00 per week in gas.

Exactly. That's why we left, too, and why we fit in around here.

C'mon up! You'll love it!

Gainesboro! Nice place. I don't lock my doors. No zoning, no planning commission and no rules. Do what you want with your property.

Too Hot in FL:

Don't forget to update us upon your return. Does your hubby specialize in certain brands of cars (ie., ford, chevy, etc.) or can he work on anything? I hope you found the place the "feels" like home for you.

Hi there!

I am also looking to relocate to Tennessee - must be a trend? I am a native Floridian. I love it here but the high prices and rude people are too much for me! Seems like the ghetto is constantly moving in on me every year which brings crime, rude people and a bunch of other stuff I don't want to have any part of! This is my home but I have relatives in East TN. I'm ready to go! But, I am taking my time and doing the homework. So, was just curious if you found your new home in TN? If so, where did you end up?

Since this thread is 5 years old, and they only posted three times, and all of them were on this thread, I guess we will never know.
