Hi all. I've been an avid reader of this forum for quite some time now. It's a great place to learn with many nice people too. I started reading here when I lived in PA before my relocation to the Tampa area. My wife and I live in Brandon now. We chose Brandon to start because of it's central location to the highways. Like many of us, I am in search of work. But I have a target with a plan and I am going to keep at it as long as possible before I get desperate.

I am a former civilian Federal employee with 10 years in the bank, sustained superior performance and all. I've become pretty good at using usajobs to apply for open positions at MacDill and James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. Both Merit promotion and external positions because I have lifelong reinstatement rights. It's a long process.

Here's my need. I'd like to meet people, Military or civilian, who work at either place (the base or the Hospital). Anyone available to chat and possibly meet? Coffee, beer, other cold drinks, fishing.., you name it. I am a career seeker who is used to networking with people. I feel so one-sided just plugging away virtually. If anyone would like to converse about working for the Feds (which I have experience doing) at MacDill or the Hospital, please contact me on the forums or email. Or if any of the frequent helpers on this forum have any suggestions as to where, when or how people network together in the Brandon area, please chime in. I appreciate all of you because you're doing a nice thing on the city-data forumes. Very good.

-Brian

Have you checked in the Meet up or Meet in groups, perhaps there is a group of federal employees there.
Good luck in finding a job.
