I am not aware of any hurricanes or other disasters coming yet at 8am the gas was $2.69 and at 1:20pm it was $2.71....I have never seen gas prices jump like this anywhere! what is going on here that these people play with prices like this around Tampa Bay? What is the logic?

TIA

Latest forecast is for gas to go up everywhere in the nation not just Tampa--part seasonally part some crooks making more money than they "should."

Seriously? You are all bent out of shape over a two cent change in gas prices? If you haven't seen at least a two cent fluctuation before you have really not been paying attention. When the gas stations get a new shipment the consumer prices are adjusted accordingly.

I think Cin is probably correct. Spring Break. Lots of travel and we all know what that means, high gas prices. Gas around here fluctuates 2 to 3 cents almost everyday. Than again, gas right now is around $3.28/Gal

YIKES. I remember that (and more) about 18 months ago when I was doing a LOT of traveling cross country (Tampa included).

I guess our $2.50-$2.75 prices are looking pretty good to you right now?!?

I remember gas being $.99... Then I remember someone taking a position of power, claim to fame being oil, going into a few wars, and miraculously, gas prices went up... $2. No one seemed to complain then, so I'm not seeing where the 3 cent difference would cause a problem.

Yes, yes it does. I remember when Gas prices were first going up people would always say, "At least its cheaper than a gallon of milk still." My response used to be, "yeah, but I don;t go through 15 gallons of mile per week." Sadly, gas is now more expensive than milk... amazing, astonishing, crazy. Maybe the should just have cars run off of milk, its a cheaper alternative!! HAHAHA 18 months ago I paid $4.34 for gas... I was not happy.

The point was that when we lived in SFLA the gas prices didn't change overnight...let alone by the hour...when we lived in Orlando same deal...it was after Hurricane Charley that this "trend" started but in Tampa it is the worst...it usually jumps more than 2 cents...
