Hello! My boyfriend and I currently live in St. Pete off of Gandy, but my boyfriend just got a job in Lakeland. I work in Downtown St. Pete, so we are looking to relocate somewhere that is in between. I have been looking around South Tampa, but have found it difficult to find what I'm looking for.
I am looking for a 2 BR, at most we can spend $1300. We are both 27 yr old professionals that like to go out on occasion, but definitely not "partiers". I'm looking for a safe area that i can go for a jog and feel safe. I currenly live in a nice, new apt complex w/ an attached garage. I know I wont find these luxuries in S. Tampa for the price I'm looking for, but does anyone have any suggestions? Any other areas other than S. Tampa I should be looking for?
Oh also, i have 2 cats and we are looking to get a dog, so the place will have to be pet friendly!!

South Tampa would be good...but like you said it's pricey. If you can find something there in your price range it is probably your best bet.

We live in Riverview and we are just off the Crosstown Expy. St.Pete is 40 min. and Lakeland is 30 min. Rent is reasonable here and we have access to I-75 and I-4 as well. I make it to Orlando Int'l Airport in 1:20 from my house.

There's a nice apartment complex near the crosstown entrance at 301 and Bloomingdale. They accept large dogs with a reasonable deposit, which can be hard to find. It's called Springs of Bloomingdale. There might be others in the area too, and you can definitely get a 2 bedroom for under $1,300. The only problem I had is I would not want to jog on Bloomingdale, I never felt safe with all the crazy drivers but many people jog down Gornto Lake since it has a sidewalk.

We live in Brandon at Providence Place Apartments. We are on our second year here and we like it. You can jog nearby and I have felt safe going out for walks. It is under what you are looking to pay. There are a lot of great things about lovong here so you might want to check it out. We are off Providence road between Bloomingdale and Causeway. Good luck with your search

Hello! Its been almost 2 years since this post, but we are looking to move again! We ended up moving to the Valhalla Townhome community off of bloomingdale and ABSOULTEY LOVE IT (great, new, LARGE townhouse, VERY safe gated neighborhood, i can even jog at night and feel safe), but our problem is that we got a dog and we now need a house with a yard (the townhomes only have a patio, so we have to take the dog out on the leash to go to the bathroom.) I am struggling to find a place w/ a good location between St. Pete and Lakeland w/ rent at most $1300. Any suggestions? We would be open to any areas (S Tampa, Lutz, Brandon, Rivervew, etc)
