Wesley Chapel. Where you can live far remote and removed, a long drive away from anything resembling civilization yet still have a higher likelihood of being robbed

Well, it's the generic Tampa, not the Tampa Tampa. On the outskirts of Tampa Bay is Wesley Chapel mentioned in the OP where homefacts shows the property crime there to be more than 150% more than the national average.

That's a long drive just to get ripped off.

And I didn't even know where the place was but I see now it is Zephyrhills-adjacent, where...

We have lived in Wesley Chapel for 4 years now and by some miracle have never been a victim of crime and have never known anyone who was. Thanks for posting the crime rates from 2013 but....whatever.

We find the area cleaner and nicer than most of metro Tampa and just like the feel of it. It is worth any extra drive although we hardly ever go into downtown - other than the theater there is not much reason to. We can get to the airport in about 35 to 40 minutes.

Metro Tampa is just weird - pockets of niceness surrounded by ugliness. Most of WC is pretty nice all in all.
