I changed jobs in October of last year. The job is remote, meaning I can work anywhere in the US, as long as it is near a major airport.

I have a friend who lives in St Pete. My plan was to stay with him for a week or two and quickly move into my own place.

I am interested in renting a furnished apt/condo starting in May for about 6 months. This will give me time to check out the area and determine if I want to buy/rent and where.

I am fairly familiar with the area and have a good idea on the places to stay away from.

What I am interested in is finding some sites where I can search for furnished apt/condo's on line. I know Craig's list, newspapers, etc.... but does anyone have other sites I can search? Perhap relocation service?

I want to avoid searching through vacation rentals, as they tend to be based on 1 week - 2 week stays and are expensive.

Thank you.

One of the challenges you will face in Florida is that rental properties 6 months and less are subject to tourist taxes and therefore you will pay more than on an annual lease. If possible, look for unfurnished rentals (if you can find them) as there are plenty of places you can rent furniture and furnishings. Of course, you would have to buy linens and cookware et al. Just a couple of suggestions. Additionally, there are many residential areas that due to zoning and homeowner associations that prohibit short term leases. I'm sure you will find something, but you will have to be persistent as it's not as easy as you'd expect.
