Hi, I will be moving to Tampa in just a few weeks. I will be in the area looking at apartments next weekend. I would like to live within a 10 to 15 minute drive of the airport as I will be traveling a lot and need easy access to the airport. I'd also like to be near Hyde Park area, 10 to 20 minute drive. What areas near the airport are nice, safe for a single female and reasonable. I'm looking at rent around $600 - $650, I see a lot of places in that range near the airport but I don't know anything about those areas...if they are safe or nice?? Any suggestions or advice on apartment complexes in the area?
Thanks, I really appreciate any help.

Don't think you will find anyplace that is safe or nice around the airport for $600 to 650.

You might find something in your price range in Town N Country but the lower price will put you in less safe areas.

There are some nice apartments and townhomes in the little area bordered by 275, Lois, Kennedy, and Westshore. The airport is more or less down the street and you could even commute by bus if you wanted. You'd be within walking distance to Westshore Mall and just down the street from International Mall. I don't know what the average rent would be, though.

The nice areas are south of airport, but it might be a push to find something for your price range. Town N County does not look too bad when i drive there, but it does not strike me as a nice place to live in either.

The best option I know of in your price range is going to be Essex on Hillsborough at Himes. It's close enough to Hyde Park and TIA.
