I live on the east coast, but my good friend lives in NP Richey. He likes it a lot. They have piers I believe, that you can walk out on or go fishing on and all that. I don't think it's as pricey as a lot of areas, but still it's over priced as all of Florida is. It's reletively close to Clearwater and that's flled with beaches and shops and rests. So it's nice and I think you'll
like it. I know that my friend didn't get directly hit by any of the hurricanes so that's good. Just lots of rain..Good luck!

Thumbs down crime rate over the top in port richey

Beware of the crime rate! National average is at 220, Here in Port Richey it is 551. I didn't look at this before I moved here and in one month my mother was robbed in her house, I was accosted at the publix shopping center and my neighbors house was broken into. Word of advice , If you have to live in Port Richey, find a gated and sequred neighborhood. Route 19 has also been rated as one of the most dangerous hwys in America, and this is the main artery of the gulf area. Please do your homework before buying here.

That's probably true for all of Florida - outside of the gated communities it is especially risky and trashy. There's a reason why there are so many gated communities.
