Hello, any Subaru WRX owners! I recently purchased a 2011 WRX. I LOVE THE CAR! But I am quite annoyed with squeaking within the cabin any time I hit a bump. It's hard to tell where the squeaks are coming from, but it seems as if it's coming from the pillars. Is there anyone else with the same issue?
I have driven alot of 2011 cars (rentals) with over 10K miles, yet to have been in one that had a squeak. Even my 1995 Lincoln with 187K dont have any squeaks. 2011 car squeaking is totally unacceptable! Take to the dealer and demand repairs!
So its mostly like a squeak and not a pop or rattle? Try pressing some on the pillars and see if you can repeat the sound that way.
I would take it to the dealer as long as you can replicate it readily. They should fix it no questions asked. As manufacturers try to create ever smaller gaps between panels, the challenge becomes keeping them from squeaking. An extremely minor misalgnment, poor installation or small defect can cause a squeak when the panels rub together as the body flexes, like when going over a bump.
The general fix is to remove the offending panel and either reinstall it more securely, replace it completely or add a little insulation at the contact point to eliminate the squeak.

I realize that yours is an old posting, but it reminded me of a simliar problem in my wife's Lexus RX330. The squeaking was fairly constant at slow speeds and over bumps and it annoyed the bejeezus out of me whenever I was behind the wheel. I checked just about everything in that car and was at the point of giving up when I finally found the culprit: it was the natural vibration and movement during driving that caused the rear leather seats to rub up against the chassis! I felt much better when I realized that it wasn't something worse!!!
I drive a Subaru WRX STI and it make all kinds of rattles, squeaks, etc but that's to be expected from our type of performance cars. I'm not sure about the newer WRX's but it's still a performance oriented car so it wouldn't surprise me if what you're hearing is normal.
