I am relocating to St. Louis in August and have a dog ... from what I've seen, CWE is probably the best area for me (single, professional, 30-something with a dog) -- I want to live near Forest Park and need some advice as to the best areas around the Park to live. Any suggestions? Thanks -- !!

I can't give you any current specific info, since I haven't lived there in many years. But don't overlook the Skinker side of Forest Park in your search. My first apartment was in a 3 story brownstone on Northwood. LOVED IT!

I'm sure there are a lot of great places around. Good luck!

If you find something could you post it here? I'm trying to relocate there too, also have a dog, also want to live where you are talking about - my dog is 50 lbs though. Always a nightmare trying to find apartments that will take her.

Definitely check out Craigslist -- I'm not sure what either of your budgets are (and you'd probably have to call about size restrictions for your big dog cafepithecus) but there are a lot of options up right now.

A couple that caught my notice on a quick search:
Beautiful spaces, available NOW! (http://stlouis.craigslist.org/apa/1204860109.html - broken link)

Here's a 2/2 for $850/month and the poster states he'll take most non-aggressive breeds: Large 2 Bed/2 Bath in the heart of CWE - UTILITIES PAID (http://stlouis.craigslist.org/apa/1204154789.html - broken link)

And I'm pretty sure Hampden Hall accepts all dogs: Hampden Hall | Overview I've rented a Village Green property before (they have complexes and buildings throughout the Midwest) and they're a well-run professional organization.
