A few nights ago I was driving in Earth City and two black deer ran across the road. I've seen plenty of deer on those roads but never black ones. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I checked out Google and sure enough, there are black deer, they are rarer than white deer. Anyone else ever see any black deer ?

I work in Earth City. Just curious, whereabouts, and about what time of day?

Prichard Farm road, close to the landfill.
Around 5:30 am, still dark out.

OK. Interesting. I'm rarely out and driving that early, but I am often driving at dusk, and sometimes, heading in that direction. I'll keep an eye out. Although I suppose I wouldn't see it in rush hour traffic. Oh well, I'll keep an eye out anyway.

Very cool - we have a TON of deer that live down the street from my home (i’m on the bluffs above Creve Coeur Lake) and specifically we did have an Albino deer running around the neighborhoods last year…she was GHOST WHITE. Will DEFINITELY keep an eye out for a black deer, that’d be crazy cool to see the other side of the spectrum! Especially if you saw a couple of them together, very neat!

Could be wild boars. I’ve seen a few across from the Casino while driving on 141 North.

They were too tall to be boars, they were definitely deer.
I'm not surprised you saw wild boars, there are all kinds of critters roaming around out there. My uncle saw a black bear in south county a year ago.
