No, that would not honor black people. I read that some want to replace confederate statues in Virginia with a black rapper. I think that would be perfect. Nelly avenue, Nelly statue, for one example.

I guess the fact that some Jews fought with the Nazis means antisemitism is a myth as well?

This working Black Male veteran (I'm not African-American, I have NO viable connections to Africa) would like to see St. Louis and that idiot mayor Krewson focus on economic development rather than tearing down statues and national history like Hitler did almost 80 years ago.
The behavior by BLM, Antifa and the other unemployed idiots has been nothing short of embarrassing.
Ok the Confederacy was built on slavery its secession treasonous celebrating the secession is idiotic so what if a few blacks served they were fighting for rich slaveowners nothing honorable about that at all. Take those participation trophy statues down.

The Buffalo Soldiers were not formed until 1866. The Civil War ended in 1865. They were formed as a follow up to the United States Colored Troops who fought for the Union during the Civil War.

While there were African Americans who fought for the Confederacy, there were no organized regiments of them. They were in far less number than those who willingly fought for the Union.

Missouri already has a monument and a state park dedicated to black Civil War soldiers. It's the Battle of Island Mound State Park.
