Best ideas for Gateway Arch parking? Or, get the bus in from the suburbs?

Why not take the Metro?
No parking worries and a short walk from the station to the Arch.

There's a garage on the north end of the Arch grounds off of Washington Ave., or you could take the MetroLink to the Arch/Laclede's Landing station.

I've heard some conflicting reports on how safe St Louis is in general, are there any downtown area's to definately stay clear of?

Don't go anywhere north of the Edward Jones Dome, and stay away from the area between the railroad tracks and I-44, and you should be fine.

You're from England? Do you have any more questions as you seem to know very little about the area (and kind of culturally the US in general). The bus from the suburbs??? There's parking everywhere downtown! Not trying to be mean, I hope you have a great time visiting. I've been living in Europe for a while now if you have some more questions, because you seem to have a somewhat novice idea of the area. No big deal, but you can have a much better trip if you understand a bit more beforehand.

On the contrary, travelled the east and west coasts extensively, first time in the mid west however. Just like to get the smaller details together regarding security and time management.

Merci beaucoup pour votre assistance.

There's a parking deck at 100 Washington Ave. by the Gateway Arch. If you buy the ticket to the Top of the Gateway Arch Experience online, $3.00 parking is included. It is easier to get in and out by showing the paper or e-mail via your phone.
