(This has nothing to do with the kegerator, but congrats on your purchase, man.)

Pretty much all beer tastes better on tap than from a can or bottle in my opinion. I'm pretty sure its a placebo, but something about unpasteurized beer just makes it taste fresh to me. If you've never had Lowenbrau on tap, you might give that a try. The stuff over here is actually brewed at the Labatt's brewery in Canada if I'm not mistaken, but using the same German recipe. Yum. There is a brewery in Cleveland called Great Lakes that makes a Dortmunder Gold - I had a couple pints at a hotel West Virginia - out of sight. Unfortunately, the Great Lakes isn't distributed in Missouri, but is in Illinois.

No doubt about it, crisp and fresh unpasteurized beer makes every brand taste better.

Thanks for the suggestions, I ended up going to Urban Chestnut on Fri eve and got a 5 gallon plastic disposable keg of Zwickel. Get it home, hook it up and...nothing but air. I took it apart 3 or 4 times but kept getting the same results. I figured I would leave it attached overnight to see if it needed to get carbed up and when I wake up the co2 bottle is empty.

I got it refilled and was right next to Friar Tuck so I stopped in to see if they had any metal 5 gallon refundable kegs and they did, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. My suspicion that the coupler and plastic keg were not connecting properly was confirmed the second I hooked up the metal keg and beer started flowing into the line.

I called Urban Chestnut and they agreed to a return/refund and have metal kegs of any beer available upon request so I will go back for the Zwickel once this is finished.
