I am relocating to the St. Louis area from Cincinnati, OH in late September. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for where to live in Soulard. In looking at craigslist a lot of the apartments appear to be near Soulard, though not in Soulard. I am trying to make appointments to look at apartments the one weekend that I am available without wasting my time on those in horrible areas. Would anyone be able to provide cross streets to make sure to stay within when looking for apartments in the Soulard area? Additionally, where is most of the nightlife and restaurants located in Soulard? If you have any suggestions for the names of buildings or resources I would also appreciate it. Thanks,

Thanks Jay. That helps a lot with knowing the area and finding out the boundaries. That being said, is there any recommendation for areas or buildings to look at for apartments?

You really can't go wrong anywhere in soulard. It kind of depends on what you want and what your lifestyle is. If your looking for a 'busier' area I would stay around 9th and Russel. I live about 2 blocks north of the brewery on 11th and Victor and love it (It is much more quiet.)

Skip-

Do you have any suggestions for management companies or buildings to look at in the area? I have been using craigslist and have found it to be hit or miss.

Craigslist is the way to go. I know redbrickmanagement has sever properties in soulard. My apt is owned by Rodemyer Christel.

I found my apt. by just driving through the neighborhood and looking for 'for rent' signs.

Skip is correct, if you like a noisier life then look north of Russell. South of Russell is quieter. Across the highway is LaSalle Park. Much quieter. For a better value look west of Gravois, near Russell.
