The title sums it up, I plan on moving to Ladue because I got a job there and it's still in my home state. Is this a good choice, Ladue I hear is a very wealthy place maybe not affordable, but just checking.

Ladue is very pricey and has great schools if that's of interest to you. If it's too pricey for you, there's dozens of other suburbs nearby that you could look at.

Hopefully the moderator will move this to the St. Louis board so you get better answers, but if you share what you like in a home (new, old, big, small?), how important walkability is to you and what your budget will be we can definitely offer more tailored suggestions.

A bit of trivia: There is a second Ladue in Missouri, only it's spelled "La Due". It's a tiny town located near Lake of the Ozarks, and is considerably less well-off than Ladue in St Louis Co., with a median annual household income of only about 23k.
Obviously, the OP is referring to the larger, wealthier Ladue.

Shouldn't this be in the St. Louis forum?

Ladue is a great place to live if you like large wooded lots, expensive homes, excellent schools, relatively low taxes, and convenience to both St. Louis city and the western suburbs. It's kind of an unusual place for one to find work at though, because it is mostly residential.

I drive through Ladue almost every day to work in Clayton. I like it just fine. If I ever win powerball, I might move there myself.

Yes, I live in Ladue. I can answer most questions about it, but the OP post is somewhat vague. The answer to "is it a nice place to live"? I would say, yes, absolutely. It is quiet and suburban, and too republican/conservative for my taste, but I still believe it is a great place to live. Is it affordable? That depends on the budget. You might find a house in Ladue proper for as little as 300k, but it will probably be a smaller, older house with a lot of deferred maintenance. 400-500 gets you something serviceable, but old and not with all the bells and whistles. 600-800 is a more reasonable starting point for most single families in Ladue, but that will get you a well-maintained 3000 square foot home . For most people, that's not affordable. So the affordability question is 100 percent dependent on the budget of the OP. You can buy near Ladue, as others have noted, for much less. Like I said, Ladue is a rather large community, geographically. Bordering communities with more affordable housing options include Richmond Heights, Rock Hill, Olivette, Creve Couer, University City, Brentwood... I might be missing one or two. There is a lot of variation between these bordering communities and within Ladue itself. But, yeah, I'm glad to answer any specific questions.
