I have been to the downtown parade twice now (today was the second time), and I think they do a really good job of presenting a fun event for everyone. Never been to the Dogtown parade, though. I guess because I've had to work on the day it falls on. Out of curiosity, is it as good as the downtown parade? Better? What's the major difference between the two parades, besides the obvious (location)?

I've only been to the Dogtown parade a couple of times. It seemed like a fairly long parade, like maybe an hour at least? Tons of floats, especially family floats named after the different Irish surnames. I don't remember there being any local dignitaries in the parade, but I could be wrong. And those guys who ride the tiny motorcycles were there for entertainment. Plenty of people were handing out beads and candy. It was family-friendly and we had a very good time. I would recommend it, but again, I haven't been to the downtown parade.
