Places to get this in a grocery store or restaurant in St George?

There's a Costco and supermarkets. There are some farmer's markets regionally. This is more meat 'n potatoes country rather than fresh seafood country, but if there's anything specific you can't find in St. George, though, there is probably a specialty store or market in Las Vegas that will have it.

Local food products include eggs, dairy and cheese, grass fed beef, seasonally things like peaches and tomatoes. Local mushrooms are grown in Fillmore, I think they sell them at the Red Barn.

You might look into a CSA subscription if you're really into fresh produce. I know there is at least one in Cedar City, there are probably some that deliver to St. George. Cruciferous vegetables and greens, squash and melons usually do well in at least parts of southern Utah. There are also fruit/ veg stands, mostly seasonally. I'm more familiar with the ones in Cedar than St. George.

Lin's on Sunset has been having a Farmer's Market in front of the store on Saturday mornings. It is seasonal, so don't know if they are still doing it or not. You could check on their web site to see if they are still having it.

With Utah so far from an ocean, it is difficult to find "fresh fish" ...

Thanks all. My mother in law mentioned it would “suck” to be in a place where there’s no fresh seafood and vegetables.

Even if it was difficult to get fresh seafood that’s not a reason to not move to a great place with 10+ other major positives

Harmon's grocery store (one near Kayenta in Santa Clara) and another in St G has an excellent produce section and seafood counter. Nice bakery too.

The only areas possible to get truly fresh sea food is in coastal areas of coastal states, and even then only locally harvested sea food can be fresh. Otherwise it will be at least a few days old, no matter where you live. Same for fresh vegetables, with only those grown locally in season can be fresh just picked vegetables.

Thanks! Good to know!

So the only real excuse the wife has is not a lot of “shopping”

Although I think its BS.

They have gap. Old navy. Target. TJ max/home goods I think. Marshall’s.

These are the places my wife goes to now. Wondering what her deal is. Maybe she’s just trying to come up with excuses because when the time comes WE ARE OUT. No stalling.

And the other thing she said was being 100 miles from an airport? Woopdi do. I do all the driving anyway. I drive 200 miles each day at work. That’s not a reason to move to a great place because people will come visit maybe 3 or 4 times per year

The best bet is to buy flash frozen seafood from Trader Joe's or someplace similar. It's frozen on the ship where it's caught usually in less than four hours after being brought aboard.

I've been told (never checked on it) that the USDA allows the sign "fresh seafood" on fish on ice that is up to seven days old.
