Astrodome - "The 8th Wonder of the World"
Yankee Stadium - "The House that Ruth Built"
Kyle Field - "The 12th Man"
Raymond James Stadium - "The New Sombrero" or "RayJay"
University of Phoenix Stadium - "The Big Toaster"

HP Pavilion, home of the San Jose Sharks is known as the "Shark tank"
Miami arena, which was the old home for the Heat, "Pink elephant"

Olympic Stadium in Montreal’s very commonly used nickname in English is the the “Big O”, often spelled sarcastically the “Big Owe”, an allusion to the billion-dollar white elephant that it was.
Stems from its location. Most ballparks are located in true urban areas where they mesh with the city. Not so that place. Its nice in itself, but its location is a logistical nightmare.

Yeah, alot of Dallasites wish the ballpark was closer to downtown Dallas. Me personally, I'm glad the ballpark is where it is because it's closer to us and it's something Tarrant County has Dallas County doesn't have. Next year, we'll also have the Cowboys and the new stadium..... in OUR county.
