I would say yes, and yes it is competitive as the do have competitions.

Again, I really have no idea what you are trying to get at with this thread. How about a little more detail on why you don't think competition is part of sports.

The socialization of most sports being competitive I feel is something having to do with the rise of professional sports and not something having to do with sports at a standalone level themselves.
