I understand how great both players are. And I have to say that there is some gratification in seeing two guys dominate a sport to such a great extent. But when I compare Djokovic to Federer, and Messi to Ronaldinho, I just don't get that same sense of unbelievable excitement. Djokovic is never going to give you anything new per se. He's going to run down a lot of balls, jump all over his opponent's serve, and move him side to side. Messi has brilliant technical skills and can dribble through defenses but it seems like his 1st goal isn't really that different from his 300th goal.
Federer, on the other hand, is nothing short of sublime, even when he's losing. It is very obvious to the untrained eye that he's pulling off some next level stuff. I think the same is true of Ronaldinho with some of the passes and tricks he was able to pull off.
So is it me, or are Djokovic and Messi kinda boring?
