Are you not getting the point of what I'm saying? I said it is a little TOO EARLY for him to retire. Besides you would never dislike Al Michaels anyways because he's covered the Olympic Games.

I don't care if he's too old or too young, he gets idiotic. If I want an idiot giving commentary, I can ask a drunk at the bar for their view and that comes free. NBC pays Costas hundreds of thousands to do what a drunk at a bar does free of charge

I think what you are seeing is another example of corporate pressure to cut costs. They are being told, probably, that pay will drop. they are heading to greener pastures. We are quickly, quickly heading to even lower quality cable networks. YoU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Don't worry...they'll bring back Olbermann because he will work for a swan song.

Olbermann seems to have developed a reputation as being a hard person with which to work. Not sure anyone is willing to pay him anything.

The Tirico thing is interesting. He was very busy with ESPN. NBC really won't have nearly as much for him to d which will be nice for him I'm sure.

I think the last sports show I watched on Fox was The Best Damn Sports Show Period for the first 3-4 years it was on. It was pretty good to my teenage self. I'll flip on ESPN early in the day as back ground noise and once in while they'll say something worth hearing. Skip was great discussing Lebron during the '11 Finals.

Brad Nessler's contract was not renewed either. He is now with CBS Sports. He is gonna replace Verne Lundquist pretty soon.
