Yeah, I loved watching him when I was a kid. Him and Flair had some very epic, and very bloody, matches. He'll be eating pork n beans with Macho Man now.
The macho man is gone too? I had no idea Randy Savage had passed away.
He had a heart attack a few years ago while driving his car , only now the WWE recognize his legacy as he had fallen out with Vince.
But RIP to Dusty Rhodes and sympathies to his family- Cody and Golddust etc.
I remember Dusty from back in the 70's, wrestling with Magnum T.A., Manny Fernandez and many others. He had some fierce battles and was some showman. Rest in Peace, Dusty.
He was my husband's favorite wrestler of all time. I had never watched wrestling till I met my husband 25 years ago. He used to tell me that he loved when Dusty would come to the ring leading a horse, wearing a mask. I wish I had been a fan back then so I could have seen that. By the time I started watching, I don't think Dusty was wrestling very much, if at all.
Thanks to my husband's description of that time, whenever I hear, "I've got one more silver dollar..." I always think of Dusty Rhodes.

Reason: typo
I am not sure if my memory is fooling me but I did see Dusty and Magnum TA at the old Greenville (SC) Memorial Auditorium and they were both wearing masks. Dusty was doing his midnight rider routine. I think they may have been wrestling the Midnight Express with Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey.
I was always more of a Ric Flair guy but it was Dusty that played a part in getting Ric to come to the Mid Atlantic area from the AWA in 1974 so here's to the Dream may he rest in peace!

Mid Atlantic was the best. Dusty was shown the Weaver lock by Johnny Weaver.
Starrcade '87 match between Dusty Rhodes and Lex Luger for the NWA United States title. Johnny Weaver accompanied Rhodes and had the "key" to the lock on the cage door. JJ toppled Weaver with a char and got the key and tried to enter the cage.
