Scott Dixon is the only name I recognize. But I'm also a motorsport fan. Sean Marks rings a bell... but not quite sure. I'm going to guess the fans of their team may know them... but I don't think they are "stars" in the NBA/NFL.
The lumberjacks are definitely not household name as that sport itself isn't nationally popular. Although I'm sure everyone watches it on ESPN every now and then. I know I do.
I think the most popular kiwi athlete here may actually be Michael Campbell based on his US Open win a few years ago.
Thats ok you never heard of them. Was talking to American the other day about American football, got on to talking about Tom Brady? quarterback. I said i never heard of him. He thought i had rocks in my head.
Steve Williams,Tiger Woods caddie is well known in NZL.
The Ice Blacks...now they scare the crap outta me! They do the Haka on ice skates before games!!
Now...after the puck drops, they're not so scary. I might be able to make that squad! But you gotta admit, doing the haka on hockey skates is pretty impressive.

Never seen ice blacks do the haka. That would be good to see.
We have expat americans living in NZL who are trying to promote ice hockey. It is slowly becoming more popular.
