Looked out my front window this morning about 6:30 and watched a coyote lope down the street through the heavy snowfall. Wildlife is not that uncommon in my southside neighborhood (Hamblen). We’ve seen moose, deer, plenty of raccoons and skunks, badgers, and an occasional coyote. Not to mention the hawks, eagles, Canada geese and herons which cross our skies from time to time.

I know I can take some flack for this, but that must have been a beautiful thing to see. Guess it all depends upon how you look at it.

Sure. Coyotes are beautiful animals and I admire their cunning and survival skills.

It's just that they don't make good neighbors.

Hmm. That’s probably the same thing coyotes think about humans.

I love it that my children are having first hand experience with wild life. Some may think that I am crazy for letting them do that but I actually allowed them to go and track the mountain lion we had in town a month ago. Of course they could not find him/her but they were so excited to look for tracks and clues in the woods.
This place (Medical Lake) has turned adventure books come to life for them with all its animals and nature they interact with every day.

I live in the Rockwood neighborhood and the Nextdoor pages have been buzzing with coyote sittings in backyards. Along with missing cat notices.
