Clemson and Seneca are surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountains I'm so fond of. And the large university brings culture and great athletics with it.
That is a lake paradise. Also one of the highest concentration of waterfalls in the country and the most pristine whitewater river in the south, the Chattooga
How far south? Hanahan and Summerville are close to the coast (Summerville less so). I live in Charleston but from what I hear of Summerville it is generally a pretty safe area but there are less safe spots just like any other city. Same with Hanahan. I would suggest you post this same question (with a little more detail than your initial post here) in the Charleston area thread. They will be able to give you plenty of advice on Summerville and Hanahan!
Thanks. My husband will be working from home and our price range is about $325k-450k
from what i have read, greenville is high crime etc?
Oh definitely not especially if you choose the eastside or Simpsonville. I lived for 25 years there and experienced no crime. Your price range is very doable.
uGH, I have no choice. My husband wants south, warm weather while I am a winter person, he refuses to go further north.
Trust us, Greenville is definitely south and warm. There’s “winter” — practically no snow/ice, barely cold enough weather for a coat for about two months. But you’re close enough to the NC mountains, you could get your “cold/snow fix” within an easy couple hour drive to ski resorts etc.
