Supermarket BI-LO #5280, 809 West Greenwood Street, Abbeville, South Carolina 29620-2552, is among three BI-LO stores and three Harvey's Supermarket stores Southeastern Grocers is divesting to independent Piggly Wiggly operators.

BI-LO #5280 opened circa 1991 or 1992 as BI-LO #280. BI-LO #280 replaced a store at Abbeville Plaza, 763 Highway 28 Bypass, Abbeville, South Carolina 29620-5546. (Variety store Fred's #1027 now operates in the former BI-LO.) BI-LO #280 became BI-LO #5280 in 2012 after BI-LO acquired Winn-Dixie, and all BI-LO stores were renumbered into the 5### range.

A closing date for BI-LO #5280 has not been announced yet.

It has been fourteen years since I last visited Ingle's #56, 1503 North Main Street, Abbeville, South Carolina 29620-1633.

The existing Ingle's #56, which opened in the mid-1990's, replaced an adjacent older store that is now a United States post office. Site limitations at the time made the new store smaller than other new Ingle's stores opening at the time and have front and side entry/exit points.

I am not aware of speculation of Ingle's #56 expanding into the former Eckerd/Family Dollar #3277 to add a pharmacy.

Supermarket BI-LO #5280, 809 West Greenwood Street, Abbeville, South Carolina 29620-2552, appears to have closed. The Piggly Wiggly operator acquiring BI-LO #5280 is Abbeville Grocers.
