Why no Costco in Bluffton or Hilton Head? I just love that store, but I can't find any in the area...only a two hour drive up to Charleston. Any hope for the future?
Hilton head has about 38,000 people, Bluffton, a little over 12,500 or so. Just not enough of a population to make a store like Costco move into the area. They'll only go where there is substantial population.
Costco is a west coast company, so out there they are spread out everywhere. Here they are more elective on their locations. You are probably stuck making the trek up here to Charleston, so be sure to leave plenty of room in your trunk!
Here is a petition a woman started to bring trader Joel's o bluffton/Hilton head. Apparently trader Joe's will go to smaller locations if enough people request it. Click the link and sign. spread the word:

Costco only has four locations in South Carolina: Charleston, Greenville, Spartanburg and Myrtle Beach. I would think Savannah would get a location soon, which would be much closer to Bluffton than any of the current area locations.
Sam's Club #6582 (Port Royal Plaza, 95 Mathews Drive, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29926-3611) was previously Walmart #728, which relocated to 25 Pembroke Drive, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29926-2259 and became a Supercenter store.
