Significant nations not to qualify: China and India (I know they fancy other sports more, but why these hugely populated nations fail to see the opportunity soccer provides, and how easy qualifying can be in Asia is beyond me).
Are we talking about best teams or teams you would have liked to see in the WC? If it's best eliminated teams I really don't know what Egypt, Tunisia and Iran have to do with that category.

I'm talking the best perceived teams not to qualify, and I didn't mention Iran. Catch up if you don't know how good Egypt is and has been, they've won a ton of African Nations Cups.
Otherwise it looks like you more or less agreed with me.
I was hugely surprised that Turkey bottled it and didn't make it. I'm sure Turkey would have done a mildly better job against Spain than Bosnia did.
