The 2022 bid didnt fail as much as it never stood a chance. 2018 and 2022 locations were given purely on bribery. I hope that Morocco gets it at this stage, 3 nations hosting it is a joke.

To answer your question, YES, you are the only one who thinks US "avoided" qualifying for political reasons

Why what?

YOU are the one who made the ridiculous assertion....

EXPLAIN your "theory"

WHO was behind the decision NOT to qualify?

HOW did this nefarious person get Klinsmann to buy in and lose his job in the process?

HOW did someone get the players to buy in, many of whom will never get another chance to play in a World Cup again, the pinnacle for the career of many?

HOW did they get other countries to cooperate since that's what it would have taken to "avoid" qualifying in the manner that they did??

Do you have any idea how ridiculous your "theory" is??

A 5 year old would know better....

Host will not get automatic qualification I guess. Otherwise all 3 will claim slots.

By the way, 2030 World Cup bid is by Argentina-Uruguay-Paraguay joint bid. This is getting ridiculous I think. And Tiny Qatar is hosting it all by themselves in 2022.

I think the main reason the U.S. didn't qualify for the World Cup competition is that in a country of 300 million people, there aren't enough people who are interested in yet another (like basketball, lacrosse, hockey, etc.) "run around randomly until you get a chance to put the ball in the hole at the end of the rectangular field as many times as you can in an hour" game.

*yawn*

There is nothing random about football. Go back to watching NFL.

No because the world cup only comes every 4 years. I doubt these pro athletes, some of who will never play in the world cup again, would throw away childhood dreams to avoid political controversy.

I'd buy this except that is how every single sport is played....

Are you try to pretend that football is any different?

And why is FIFA accepting joint bids? The destruction of landmass will be incredible from there on.
