lol he was not arrogant. He knows exactly what it takes to build or rather establish a sustainable football culture in the states. Germany churns world beaters on a daily basis and he's a product of that environment...what he didn't anticipate is the instant gratification attitude of the American fans. We want results right away and he needed more time to build his crop of players and style.
What? Then why was Jurgen more focused on having guys who can run up and down the pitch rather than fundamentals? People in the know were saying Joachim Low was the brains of the German operation when Jurgen was the head guy. They were right.
Americans don't care that much, but since the success 2013 happened, you might get why they had had enough of Jurgen pissing off players by changing into unfamiliar formations on game day, like he did against Mexico.
BS, 5 years is a long time in football anywhere. Football culture in the US is growing fast and has much more to do with MLS (and even Premier League and others) than it does the US National Team.
If Germany failed to qualify for a Euro or World Cup, that manager would be fired fast.
we are NOT Germany so the sooner we start acting accordingly the better.
The best comparison I can give you is the German national basketball team vs ours. If we fail to qualify for FIBA yes, our coach should be sacked. The Germans on the other hand would set goals to achieve by a certain time....progress is not always determined or reflected in wins or losses.

Player selection is an entirely different can of worms. You play with what you have and try to adjust your coaching philosophy to the talent around you. Anyway, had his tactic produced wins, we would have dubbed him a genius by now. It just didn't work out. Happens even to the "greatest" coaches in any sport.
Btw Klinnsmann is just as talented as Low, in fact some would even argue that he's more talented considering his contribution to the German football trophy chest. The so called people in the know are probably referring to personality traits. Ask anyone in the Bundesliga and they'd tell you Jurgen was somewhat arrogant and unapologetic about it. It didn't help matters that he refused to manage Bayern and opted for the USMNT job. Both guys are simply a product of a fundamentally sound and structured football system. We will get there some day but first we have to adjust our expectations.
I've been busy with work, but now I'm back people. I'm kind of sad. It wasn't clear whether or not Juergs was a bad coach, or whether or not he was just doing his best with bad conditions. Constantly changing team, issue with player quality. Super young and older players, lack of national support. I was kind of attached to him, so if even for that reason, it is a bummer.
