That's all you got? BTW, how many Spurs matches did you watch last year? I caught about 6 to 8 Man U games and would not begin to judge their players on such a small sample.

My old man is a Spurs fan and lives in North London mate. All his family are Tottenham. I have seen a lot of Tottenham last season and over the years to know that Modric is a world class player.

Oh and you caught 6-8 Man Utd games. Thats not a lot at all is it?

No it's not...

I remember about 3 years ago when many Man U fans had turned on legends Giggs and Scholes, saying they were past it and needed to go. I was surprised at first, but I'm not like them watching every ManU match closely. But I respected there up-to-date opinions and accepted that ManU did have midfielders in better form.

This is no different. Modric was great for awhile but was mostly pants last year. He could turn it around at White Hart Lane but I'd rather he go to Madrid freeing Spurs to buy a big-time striker.

There is no midfielder at Spurs better then Modric. He is the best midfielder at Tottenham and would be a huge loss to Spurs. If you did sell him to Madrid, you would need to spend the money on a replacement rather then a striker. Believe me when I say that Sigurdsson is not a replacement.

Bale is better, much more dangerous. And last year Scott Parker was easily better at doing his job than Modric was at doing his.

Let's end the pi$$ing match...

Bale is not better. They are completely different players. You cant compare the two.

You said Modric was Spurs best midfielder, Bale almost always plays midfield these days. So you invited the comparison. Got something against the Welsh?

Bale sometimes "drifts in" to the middle, but he is still a winger, Modric is a playmaker and a brilliant one at that. Bale is amazing also.

I have nothing against the Welsh. I am half Welsh myself but Modric is Spurs best all round player. He is so important to the team. He will be a big loss to Tottenham but £40 million is a lot of money. It all depends how you look at it. I think Modric will be Tottenham's loss and Madrid's gain but he might just stay at Spurs because Madrid have not put in a stronger bid.
