Have any of you ever attended a World Cup game?

I'd love to go to Brazil for 2014...whether I'll have enough money for it is another question.

Is it as thrilling as it seems?

Any thoughts about the experience and whether it's worth all the money one would spend? I think even to catch maybe just one or two games would be awesome, and then just spend the rest of the week or two hanging out in Rio, Minas, or Salvador. (It would be a tough choice between these 3; I love Minas Gerais the most, but the lure of sitting in Maracana stadium might be too much to resist.). Salvador would be awesome for the musical party it would no doubt become during the whole event.

Eh...what the heck...it's probably way too expensive...they'll probably jack up the hotel and flight prices just like they do for Carnaval and New Year's.

went to 6 games at Giants Stadium in '94 - it was an amazing experience

4 hours before to 4 hours after, sharing food, kicking around in the parking lots, everyone excited to be there without the animosity of an NFL tailgate of, say, the Eagles and Giants. Fans of both teams partying together and having a blast.

The atmosphere inside - the singing, chanting, and sportsmanship were a great experience.

If you get the chance - go. You'll love it...

I'd love to go to Brazil 2014 too, and I think we're going to go with my friends to Puerto Alegre, which is pretty close to my city

It's an amazing experience. Everyone is having a great time before and after the match. There are people from dozens of countries at every game and all showing support for the sport you love. It is second to none in fan experience.
