I always have a laugh when american say this. In Denmark i've actually asked people wearing yankee's pants and hats about the team.
Some people actually think its a brand called NY, not a baseball team. I asked this one guy wearing a NY cap. "You do know thats a new york yankees cap right??"
He then said "Umm no its new era's cap".

And people have no clue who A-Rod or Jeters is.

Doesnt matter. At the end of the day its a yankee cap and at the end of the day the logo got where it is off the strength of the team. Lol dropping 30+ dollars to purchase a hat and not knowing what they're buying. You dont see americans in MANu stuff

I see lots of Americans in ManU, Liverpool, Arsenal, Barca, etc apparel. The difference is that you don't see Americans wearing those things because of the logo - They wear them because they are genuine fans.

Its more impressive when a brand infriltrates into general pop culture. I've never ever ever seen anyone in a man u jersey. The only soccer jersey you really see is the brazil one

You should stop talking until you're good at it.

I see more Mexico jerseys than Brazil jerseys. Like Interpol said, most of the people I have seen wearing the European jerseys have been on college campuses.

I have also seen an influx of MLS jerseys over the last five years (Blanco, Beckham, etc).

I do think that the AIG sponsorship has not done any favors for ManU in the American jersey sales dept. That isn't exactly the most popular logo in America these days.

Manchester United is the most followed sports team in the world. It's a fact.

The New York Yankees logo is popular but it is more because it is a representation of American pop culture than it is because of the baseball team. Many people that purchase Yankees hats have no clue who the hell the Yankees are.

No one buys a Man U shirt and not know who Man U is.
