... not something the home of Boeing will do ...

And not that videoconferencing solves all problems or replaces face to face communication. It's even more conservative in Boeing's high growth area - Asia. They practically demand face time.

Look at a map. Due to complaints from residents the final approach has been changed to carry the air traffic over Elliot Bay. Unfortunately, that means that coming from the south they will make their turn and start their decline over your area. In heavy cloud cover they will be low enough to be heard, while most of the time will still be pretty high until they get over the water.

If you live anywhere near an airport there is always a chance that noise will become an issue.

Sounds like your house needs better soundproofing, OP. My best friend in this area has a house that is LITERALLY less than a mile as the crow flies from the big Boeing facility in Renton, as well as the adjoining airport. Anytime I stop by, I hear planes flying overhead while I'm in his driveway or backyard, but I don't hear them at all in the house itself.

Northgate is 22 miles from SeaTac Airport. That isn't really "near an airport" so you can understand the OP's complaint.

Please complain to the port of seattle on their website...they have a link. I actually gets forwarded to the FAA. I relocated here from Memphis, TN and one of the reasons I left Memphis is the terrible air traffic (FED EX) over the city...unfortunately, I had no idea Seattle was so dense and there is almost no neighborhood that I have been to yet that doesnt have air trafficf!! It's crazy. Looking to move again!
