Just got a quote from a GC to put up a wall....cost more than I would have thought.

Any great contractors in the everett/bothell area I should check out?

Any guesses on what it might cost to put up a 12' wall to split a large bedroom into two. New room would need it's own door (cut out of adjacent wall), and closet. However ceiling fixture and switches for lights are in place already. Carpet would have to be restretched at new wall and patched in new door frame.

My dad is a pretty well known GC in the north Snohomish County area. I'll get a quick quote from him for ya.

And heres what he said: "Just off the cuff I would estimate around $3000.00. That would include materials, framing, drywall, tape, PVA, texture, paint, baseboards, door and casing, and carpet labor."

PM me if you want contact info.

Try Angies List. Worth every bit of money to subscribe. I have found a contractor, a painter, a landscaper, a carpet cleaner and a roof cleaner through the list and have not been disappointed with one of them. You can search for contractor based on ratings/area and read reviews on them. If you google angieslist - code and coupon, you can often find a discount on membership.
