Hi guys -- wife and self will be relocating to the eastside soon, and as the real estate market there is significantly higher than where we are coming from, it's very likely we'll be spending our first several months (or year) renting.

Given our eventual working areas (Bothell, Bellevue), it seems like Kirkland is the way to go for the both of us. Does anyone have recommendations on apartment communities suitable for an early 30's, (currently) childless couple? Safe, quiet, and if possible close to grocery shopping is important to us; nightlife and walking distance entertainment are not. Preferably close to other young professional couples and far away from rowdy college students

Comfortable square footage for the two of us would probably be 800+, rent range is probably up to around $1200/mo. Any combination of 1-2 bed, 1-2 bath could be workable for us.

Here's a link that might help. Click the 'Map' tab to see where apartments are located and their rating.

I haven't lived there, but I drive by Juanita Village every week. It's apartments with street level retail, coffee shops and restaurants, across the street from a nice park on Lake Washington. Those look nice to me. The communities are Chelsea and Avalon Juanita Village.

There are always people outside jogging, walking their dogs, etc.

I've check these out for my mom when she was looking and liked them very much. They are located in Kirkland pretty far from the main road which has a nice secluded feel to them but centrally located near Juanita Village and a nice walking trail. You can probably check their reviews at forrent.com. Resort at Forbes Creek
Best of luck to you!
