Issaquah is really, really White. As in White People. There are 3 kids in my son's class who aren't Causasian or are 1/2 and 1/2 like my boy.

Three.

Coming from Atlanta....it's quite a change. Heck, in my high school in South Georgia, it was like 40 percent white, 40 percent black, 20 percent hispanic and one asian girl.

Issaquah is not the first place I've seen a teen driving a BMW. It is the first place I've lived where it seems EVERY teen drives a BMW, Mercedes or Porsche. Or at least a pretty nice, new car.

It's sort of wild to realize that quite a few of your neighbors make $100,000 or more a year....on a single income.
That is not just Issaquah. The same can be said for most of the Seattle suburbs, north and east.

Maybe, guess it depends on YOUR ability and YOUR hard work.

I personally don't know anyone here who makes even close to $100K a year. Well, maybe my step mom, but that's it.

I agree that it isn't very hard at all to make six-figures. Seattle compensates well and there's plenty of industry to go around. I remember Boston being a difficult city to get established in due to all their industry heading west and people fighting for entry level positions. Then I moved to Portland where they just don't really care about salary all that much. If you're making 55k right out of college, you should grow into 100k in 6-8 years, not 10.

For those still interested in offering insights into the neighborhood stereotypes, does anyone have thoughts on the differences between West Seattle, Alki, and the Admiral areas? Thanks in advance.

The Admiral District and Alki are both parts of West Seattle, and West Seattle has many other areas as well.
Alki: Beautiful, as close to a California beach town as we're going to get around here; busy, lots of people walking alongside the beach...people playing volleyball on the beach and rollerskating...densely populated...fun...lots of restaurants.
Admiral: Comfortable pretty neighborhood with a bit of a small town feel...good supermarkets and restaurants, nice views..not a cheap place to live ( neither is Alki) but has the PCC store and Metropolitan Market . Like Alki, it's very walkable...and like the Alaska junction part of West Seattle, it also reminds me a little bit of Ballard( but I like W Seattle a little more.)

Second Alki Beach,It is my number one spot in the Puget Sound, does not seem to be much of a stereotype to the neighborhood unlike other places in the Greater Seattle area-The only downside after looking at 19 homes for sale as high as 639k,I can't find any fit for a car nut...In Alki 600k gets you a nice house with a 1.5 car garage and enough driveway space for a moped and tricycle.
