Repent very quickly or just commit to partying like rock stars and going out in a blaze of glory! Must read: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/01/u...imes&smtyp=cur

Partying like a rock star usually leads to repenting anyway.... Guess I'm just lazy. Trashing hotel rooms seems like work - moving all that furniture...

Fortunately we have a 'weather machine' (AC) which I will probably try to hug when I get home thurs.

All those nasty comments about Phoenix and talking up Seattle's perfect summer finally coming back to bite me. I was able to purchase a fan today before they sold out so karma isn't a total ***** I guess.

Ironically my last domicile, KC has been having gorgeous upper 70s/low 80s for a while now and is forecasted to have the same for the next ten days. That never happened in the 4 years I lived there in late July/early August.

We are also among the 30% of Puget Sound residents with AC, keeping it at a nice comfortable 71 inside. I just shut it off, since it's already cooled to 73 outside. For the rest of the week I'm driving to work with the AC in the car. The Eastside buses have AC but the uphill one mile walk from the office to the bus stop was bad enough today, and will be worse tomorrow and Thursday. By unfortunate timing, they just moved my bus stop a block farther away to demolish another older block for new condos on 2nd between Stewart and Pine.

I remember the infamous heat wave of 2009 - around 104 degrees or so where I was.

If today was an indicator of anything, the smokey air coming in from Canadian wildfires may provide some shielding from the upcoming scorchers - not the case back in '09!

I grew up in Georgia, I think I'll be fine with a few days of triple digits lol, Georgia has entire summers of those and high humidity. Give me a fan and I'm good...

PS. No AC here either.

We have a historic home (20s Craftsman) with a converted basement, bedroom, living room, full bath down there. You know where I'll be sleeping. It is at least 10 degrees cooler than upstairs, maybe 15. I'll rent it out to you for $2,000 a night if things get tough.

Being as I originated from South Texas - Ahh the summer we had 90 plus days of 114 , right on the gulf , back in the 1990's . I am up high with lots of windows and power fans but I am one of those folks that can make an AC out of an old cooler chest if I need too for a day or three.
