AG Ferguson hits initiative promoter Eyman with $2.1 million campaign violations suit

Quote:
Attorney General Bob Ferguson followed the money, and it led to the filing Friday of a $2.1 million lawsuit against initiative promoter Tim Eyman for personal use of campaign contributions and multiple violations of state campaign disclosure laws.

"We have a strong case this was intentional," Ferguson told reporters. And state Public Disclosure Commission chair, retired judge Anne Levinson, added: "This was intentional. This was a pattern. It is crystal clear. This was not an accident."

If Ferguson succeeds in the suit, which alleges improper personal use of $308,000 in contributions made to political committees -- and concealment of contributions totaling $490,185 -- Eyman and his for profit company Tim Eyman Watchdog for Taxpayers could face $1.8 million in penalties.

Citizen Solutions, a for-profit signature gathering firm that diverted money to Eyman, could face penalties up to $924,555.
Looks like the Pied Piper will be paying the piper...
