So a few of you may remember me from being the one who has been working on moving to Seattle for a while now. I finally got a job offer which I accepted, the job is a gov. job in the SeaTac International airport. I leave Georgia on the 18th giving myself 5 days to get up there, I got an apartment in Kent, it's not the best but it was short notice, my move in date is the 22nd. It's the Somerset Apartments off of 109th Place SE, hopefully it's decent. Doesn't seem too far of a commute to SeaTac.

Anyways, it's finally happening, and I'm very excited!

Hopefully you have an early start time, that can be as little as 20 minutes if you are ahead of the rush. Congratulations, and welcome!

You will be arriving in the dead of winter but please just grin and bear it because it does get better. In fact spring in the Seattle area is quite nice compared to many cities in the East. Congrats and good luck in your new Northwest home.

Good for you, I remember your inquiries. I'm the doomsayer who suggests people should have deep pockets before arrival...but on-reflection perhaps it isn't "always" necessary prior to making it work here in town.

Good luck, keep posting on your experiences here.

it's not just that it's affordable, even though I can afford more expensive rates, after they require 2.5x up to 3x monthly salaries it puts it out of my level.

I have heard new management is helping to make it better, even if little by little. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

No need to doxx yourself, but if you're coming up here to work at TSA, SeaTac needs all the agents it can get.

Congrats for getting a job, an apartment and fulfilling a dream! I hope Seattle lives up to your expectations.
