Eh, I'm going to disagree with Jenbar too. I always drank right out of the tap as did almost everybody when I was growing up. Back then, of course, bottled water was a luxury that few could justify. And even if they could afford it, the tap water was so good that why pay the money for bottled water?

I remember my relatives in southern California had bottled water delivered like milk in those huge glass bottles that you'd turn upside down and put in a dispenser. I always wondered why they did that until I tried tasting the water out of the faucet. *ugh* ...that's one thing I do miss about Seattle.

There are two entirely different water systems for Seattle, if I remember correctly roughly divided between north and south. One of them tastes good and one tastes bad. I lived about in the middle on First Hill, so I don't remember which is the good side and which is bad. It might be the north part that has the good tasting water.

I live in the Central District and I drink tap water everyday. In fact, I think I'll have a glass right now.

I was thinking the same thing myself. WHAT in the world people talking about?

The last time I tried giving tap water to my kids, they got sick (before we finally got clean water from our own well out in Mason County). We had to use bottled water in Ballard, Issaquah, Seatac, and Bonney Lake (although Bonney Lake wasn't bad - think it came from the white river or something). I have had decent water out of the tap in Renton on the Issaquah side (filtered of course).

Sometimes when I read the posts on here I wonder if I live in a different Seattle.
