Recently I considered flying home for a week to visit family in TN, and to remind myself what a truly awful summer feels like. But then I came to my senses.

its a pain for the rest of us who don't want to live in overpriced, outdated, crowded neighborhoods too close to the nitty gritty downtown areas.

*shrug*

Of course there's a cons and pros to both city and suburban living.

I don't mind living in First Hill, since I'm single, my job pays good and it's walking distance to virtually everything fun.

I can't tell you how much I am thankful not to have to get into my car every time I need to leave my place for any little task, like I did all my years living in suburban Indiana. My building even has a small convenience store on the first floor - so if I happen to run out of toilet paper in the middle of winter, I can walk down in my shorts and flip-flops and refill. Easy does it

Spending an extra couple hundred bucks for living carless downtown gives me a ton of disposable income. My suburban friends are always broke and they work their azzes off. I'll never live any other way again!

I feel like I should be offended by this, but I did hate living there.

It just warmed up to 57 degrees now that the pouring rain and wind have finally stopped (was 54 degrees at 2:3pm). I wore a wool sweater and leather boots today with a raincoat and was still freezing. I turned the heater in my car up to 70 degrees at 2pm. The next thing on my list, if the cold doesn't stop is antidepressants.

Hopefully that made you feel a little better!

If it makes you feel any better, in 2009 we had the first of our non-springs and that ended up being the hot summer where we broke our all-time heat record with a high of 103.
