Hi! I was hoping to get a bit more insight on the different areas of Seattle. My husband and I visited last year and feel in love with the area. We are moving over the summer. I've started my research on Seattle and the surrounding areas. However, thought maybe I should post on here and ask. It's just my husband, myself and our black lab. We enjoy going out to dinner, bars,walks with the dog and trying new things. We'd like to be near downtown but not in the heart of it.

If you want to stay in Seattle proper then, check out Queen Anne (can be expensive), Ballard (has it's own unique charm), Greenwood (main drag with some bars and places to eat), Green Lake (park like setting and businesses and paths surrounding the lake in the center), Alki (beachfront and normal residential areas with a core shopping drag full of shops and places to eat).
Those are all nicer areas that are mostly safe. Prices can be more expensive here, but if you shop around . . . There are also nice yards in many homes for a black lab.
If you would like to live outside of Seattle, there are tons of choices. Bellevue, WA has a great downtown, and might be something you want to consider. More modern then Seattle.
